Walk for Life – Melbourne
Sunday 3 May 2026 - Jells Park, Ferntree Gully Road, Wheelers Hill 3150
The inaugural Walk for Life – Melbourne is being held to create a supportive and understanding space for individuals, families, and friends who have experienced the sudden and unexplained cardiac death of a loved one, as well as for those who have survived an unexpected cardiac arrest
For many people, these experiences arrive without warning and leave lasting questions. Walk for Life offers a simple opportunity to come together in a setting that is informal, respectful, and grounded in shared understanding.
Inspired by community-led walks held in Sydney, as well as similar walks held by CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in the United Kingdom, the Melbourne walk is intended as a welcoming gathering rather than a formal event. It is a chance to connect with others who understand – whether that means walking, talking, or simply being present.
What to expect
The walk is a casual, free event, open to anyone who wishes to attend. There is no obligation to walk. People are equally welcome to come simply to connect, to talk, or to spend time quietly in the company of others who understand.
Walk for Life – Melbourne is first and foremost a support activity. Any awareness that comes from gathering together is a natural outcome, not the purpose. The focus is on community, connection, and recognising a shared experience of sudden and unexplained cardiac events.
